Tufts sailing competed on day one of the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Finals, a prestigious two-day showcase regatta hosted by Brown in Cranston, Rhode Island on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The 18-team field featured some of the strongest collegiate sailing programs in the nation.
The Jumbos got off to a promising start on the water. Sophomore skipper Crue Ziskind and senior crew Reddin Kehrli opened with a second-place finish in the A division’s first race. The duo went on to record a 67-point score across six races, placing them 10th in A division through Saturday after winning a tie-breaker over Navy.
In the B division, where five races were completed, sophomore Pearse Dowd, junior Oliver Keeves, and first-year Sophie Dart represented Tufts. Dowd handled skipper duties in Races 1 and 2 before Keeves took over for Races 3 through 5. The Jumbos posted a 73-point score in B division, sitting 17th after the opening day.
Overall, Tufts sat 16th after day one with a combined score of 140. Brown led the regatta with an impressive 42 points, followed by Boston College at 59, Tulane at 68, and Yale at 69. The tight margins across the fleet underscored just how competitive the Atlantic Coast Championship Finals field truly was.
First warning for the second and final day of racing was scheduled for 10:00 AM on Sunday, with the Jumbos looking to climb the leaderboard in the remaining races.
