The 2026 U.S. Wingfoil Championship is heading back to San Francisco Bay, with registration now open for the F4 Foils Summer Wingding at St. Francis Yacht Club from July 30 through August 2, 2026. Co-hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club and US Sailing, and backed by title sponsor F4 Foils, this third edition of the national championship promises to be the biggest yet for the fast-growing sport of wingfoiling.
Competitors can sign up for either the High Performance Wingfoil fleet or the Recreational Wingfoil fleet. Organizers expect the country’s top foilers to join a strong contingent of Bay Area sailors who wingfoil daily at Crissy Field, located adjacent to St. Francis Yacht Club and long recognized as one of the world’s hotspots for board sport innovation.
“This will be the third consecutive year that we have hosted this event and that consistency shows that St. Francis Yacht Club and its dedicated volunteer team are playing a leading role in the development of wingfoiling in the United States,” said Felix Weidling, Race Director of St. Francis Yacht Club. Beyond hosting world-class events that draw top talent, the club runs weekly wingfoil races throughout the summer and offers wingfoil classes as part of its junior sailing program.
“US Sailing is proud to once again work alongside St. Francis Yacht Club as host of the U.S. Wingfoil Championship for a third consecutive year. Their commitment to excellence, innovation and the growth of foiling disciplines makes them an outstanding host, and we’re excited to continue building on this momentum together,” said Betsy Allison, US Sailing Adult Sailing Program Director.
The schedule features multiple races daily plus a long distance competition known as the SF Bay Challenge on August 1, which is open to kiteboards, windsurfers, and parawings in addition to wingfoil competitors. The championship is just one element of a weekend-long festival of foiling designed for participants, family, and friends. The Thursday before competition will feature a foiling demo such as parawing or freestyle, while event sponsors and board sport companies will have gear and demo opportunities available on Crissy Beach throughout the weekend. Non-competitive foilers who may not be gunning for the podium are encouraged to register and participate.
“Conditions should be perfect, with sunny skies and blasting winds, for the best wing racers from around the country and globe competing for the top prize,” said Geoff Headington, Regatta Chair and competitor. “Be sure to register if you want to compete, or if you’re a fan of the sport make time to come watch the action, demo the gear and meet other wingfoilers. We plan to add other foiling discipline competitions in the days leading up to the event, so keep an eye on the beach!”
