The 2027 Sail Central Championships will take place July 15–18, 2027, at the Hudson Yacht Club in Hudson, Quebec, Sail Canada has announced. The event promises a compelling mix of training and competition for regional sailors across multiple classes.
Hosted during the Hudson Yacht Club Fruitbowl Regatta, the championship will feature two dedicated training days on Thursday and Friday, with event coaches assigned to each fleet and an overall event coach mentoring sailors throughout the regatta. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, July 17th, and Sunday, July 18th.
The Sail Canada Sail Central Championships are primarily aimed at sailors from Ontario and Quebec, though athletes from other provinces are welcome to participate.
The Notice of Race and a registration link for the 2027 Sail Central Championships will be made available in the coming months. Dates for other national and regional championships will be communicated at a later stage.
Sail Canada’s three regional championships offer sailors the chance to train and compete alongside high-level competitors in their region across the Optimist (U15), ILCA 4, ILCA 6, ILCA 7, Club 420, and 29er classes. The event also serves as a talent identification opportunity for regional and provincial sailing teams, while providing training, development, and mentoring opportunities for coaches, officials, and volunteers.
The 2027 Sail Central Championships will form part of a total of seven Sail Canada Regional and National Annual Championships scheduled for 2027. The broader calendar includes the Sail East and Sail West Regional Championships, along with the Youth, Senior Formula Kite, Senior ILCA 6 and ILCA 7, and Senior 49er and 49erFX Championships.
Helly Hansen is the proud prize sponsor for the Sail Canada Championships, while the events are funded in part by the Government of Canada.
