Troublemaker Takes the Win at M24s of Summer in Tampa

Eddie Gary and the Gill Race Team aboard Troublemaker claimed victory at the M24s of Summer regatta, held at Davis Island Yacht Club in Tampa, Florida. Beautiful sailing conditions and a competitive Melges 24 fleet made for another memorable edition of this popular Southeast event.

A small but talented group of local and traveling teams gathered for the weekend, completing four races before weather conditions shut down racing on Sunday. Despite the shortened schedule, there was no shortage of intense competition on the water.

Gary’s Troublemaker led the charge to take the overall win. Alex Korakis and his team aboard Slippery finished in second place, while Davis MacLeod racing Mojo made the journey from Lake Lanier Sailing Club to round out the podium in third. The presence of Lake Lanier teams alongside the DIYC fleet added depth and variety to the racing.

While only four races were sailed, the event delivered exactly what Melges 24 sailors have come to expect from M24s of Summer: competitive sailing, great camaraderie ashore, and the kind of weekend that keeps crews coming back season after season.

A special thank-you goes to Davis Island Yacht Club for welcoming the fleet and providing excellent race management and hospitality throughout the weekend.

With M24s of Summer now in the books, attention turns to the final event of the Southeast Racing Series season. Stay tuned as the fleet prepares to bring another outstanding year of Southeast Melges 24 racing to a close.
