The 2025 Youth Sailing World Championships is one of the most anticipated events on the international youth sailing calendar, bringing together the world’s brightest under-19 sailing talents to compete for global honours. This year’s championship is being hosted in the stunning coastal town of Vilamoura, Portugal, from 12–20 December 2025, with sailors from around the globe converging on the Algarve to test their skills in a week of high-performance racing and international camaraderie.

With its modern marina, consistent wind patterns, and reliable racing conditions even in winter, it offers an ideal stage for elite youth competition. The Marina de Vilamoura and Vilamoura Sailing Centre—one of the largest dinghy sailing hubs in the world—are the focal points of the championship, providing world-class facilities, race management expertise, and vibrant event atmosphere.
The Youth Sailing World Championships are widely regarded as the pinnacle of youth sailing and serve as both a celebration of emerging talent and a proven pathway toward senior and Olympic success. Many past competitors have gone on to achieve Olympic medals and global fame, and this event represents a crucial stepping-stone in the career of any aspiring elite sailor.

In 2025, world titles will be contested across six core classes: ILCA 6 (single-handed dinghy), 29er (skiff), 420 (two-person dinghy), Nacra 15 (mixed multihull), iQFOiL (windsurfing), and Formula Kite (kiteboarding). Within these classes, there are male, female, and mixed categories, comprising 11 distinct world championship events over the course of the regatta.
