Pacific Life has announced a landmark partnership with the US Sailing Team that includes six new athlete ambassadors, a $1 million training fund, and life insurance coverage for active team members. The announcement came at a November 4 event at Newport Harbor Yacht Club, where team athletes, Olympians, and leaders from Pacific Life, US Sailing, and the broader sailing community gathered to celebrate the unprecedented commitment.
Charlie Enright, Chief Executive Officer of US Sailing, praised the significance of the investment. “This level of investment, from an institution like Pacific Life, directly to athletes, is unprecedented in the sailing space. It will make a massive impact as we prepare for LA28, and beyond,” Enright said. “By choosing to invest in all the athletes, Pacific Life is setting the organization up for a very vibrant future. We couldn’t ask for a better partner, and we can’t thank them enough for their generous, additional support!”
The $1 million Pacific Life Athlete Support Fund will be directed toward supporting athletes as they train and compete. The investment acknowledges the enormous preparation and commitment required to compete at the highest levels of sailing, helping offset expenses for training, equipment, coaching, and more as athletes pursue their journey to the global stage in 2028.
Beyond direct training support, Pacific Life will offer all actively competing members of the US Sailing Team 10-year Promise Term life insurance coverage. For eligible athletes, the offering creates a meaningful connection with Pacific Life as customers, helping provide financial security for them and their families. With the demands of training schedules, travel, competition, and family responsibilities, life insurance provides an important foundation of protection. For many members of the US Sailing Team, sailing is a family tradition passed from one generation to the next, reflecting what Pacific Life describes as the power of a promise.
The six athlete ambassadors introduced at the event represent a range of sailing disciplines and experiences, bringing audiences closer to the US Sailing Team by sharing the personal stories behind competing at the highest level.
