The 2026 Nacra 15 Worlds turned Plymouth Sound into a genuine international stage, and a new recap video from Plym Yacht Club captures why the week left such a mark on the hosts. Run jointly by Plym Yacht Club and Hooe Point Sailing Club from 25 July to 1 August, the regatta drew 58 boats from twelve nations, riding a steady sea breeze and, by the sound of the sailors on camera, some genuinely testing downwind conditions on the fast, twin-trapeze cat.
Seven different race winners across the opening two days set the tone for a title fight that stayed open deep into the series. Italy’s Mattia Di Martino and Nina Cittar eventually took the World Championship, holding off compatriots Alessandro Vargiu and Noa Lisci, with France’s Anahita Fontanille and Leo Jean-Albert rounding out the podium. Hungary’s Samson and Tristan Litkey claimed the Under 17 title, and Italy also walked away with the Nations Cup — a clean sweep for the squad.
A Home Fleet Among the Nacra 15 Worlds Contenders
For Plym Yacht Club, the story was as much local as international. Eight British teams raced the series, including two from the host club itself, George Stacey and Finn Caddy alongside Will Boalch and Eliza Pritchard, plus Plym member Maddie Jinks sailing with Marcus King. Their presence among a fleet stacked with visiting Americans, Australians and Europeans is exactly the kind of grassroots-to-world-stage pathway that classes like the Nacra 17 have leaned on too, as seen in the recent build-up to the Nacra 17 Junior Worlds in Medemblik.
