MIT sailing turned in an impressive showing across five regattas over the weekend, with the Regis Trophy result standing out as the highlight. The Engineers earned a strong second-place finish at the Regis Trophy, hosted in Cambridge, Massachusetts, tallying 78 points against a competitive fleet of 17 teams.
The weekend saw MIT sailors spread across multiple venues throughout the region. At the NEISA Women’s Singlehanded Championship and the NEISA Singlehanded Championship, both held in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, individual competitors represented the program on the racecourse.
Back on home waters in Cambridge, MIT also competed in the Hatch Brown Trophy, finishing fifth out of 16 teams with 167 points. That mid-fleet result in a large field demonstrated the depth of the squad as sailors balanced commitments across simultaneous events.
Rounding out the weekend was the Mystic Lake Invite in Medford, Massachusetts, where MIT placed fifth out of six entries with 259 points. While that result was less prominent, the experience gained across varied conditions and venues adds valuable race time heading deeper into the season.
With five events on the schedule in a single weekend, the MIT sailing team showed the kind of roster depth and competitive ambition that keeps them among the most active programs in New England collegiate sailing.
