Harvard Wins 2025 College Match Racing Championships

Amidst slightly better breeze than on Day 1, Harvard’s clean sweep awarded them the Cornelius Shields, Sr. Trophy and the 2025 College Match Racing Championships.

Here are the final results:

Champion: Harvard University — undefeated in the round-robin with 6 wins, 100 %.

2nd Place: College of Charleston — 5 wins out of 6 (83%) in round-robin.

3rd Place: Tulane University — 3 wins out of 6 (50%).

Other notable teams included Georgetown University (4 wins, 67%) and Brown University (4 wins, 67%).

Neither day saw breeze conditions in the double-digits as teams had to battle it out in light, shifty conditions throughout the weekend. Sunday’s conditions were slightly better as light breeze built modestly throughout the day:

Around 10:00 h local: ~5 kts from WNW.

Around 13:00 h local: ~8 kts from WNW.

Around 16:00 h local: ~6–7 kts from W.

But, ultimately it was a test of patience and light air skill as Harvard proved the better team at the 2025 College Match Racing Championships.
