Harken UK has confirmed a renewed partnership with the British Sailing Team, extending its role as the squad’s Official Hardware Supplier. The announcement arrives with momentum building toward the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, underlining both organizations’ shared commitment to competitive excellence on the water.
The continued collaboration means that sailors across the full spectrum of the British Sailing Team program — from youth and transitional athletes to elite Olympic campaigners — will retain access to Harken’s cutting-edge deck hardware at exclusive rates. Beyond equipment supply, the partnership provides athletes with direct technical support, service expertise, and tailored product guidance from one of the sport’s most respected hardware manufacturers.
Another core element of the arrangement involves joint research and development. Both parties will work together on testing and refining new deck hardware products, with the aim of advancing equipment options for sailors of every ability level across the sport.
Tom Peters, Managing Director for Harken UK, expressed enthusiasm about the deal’s continuation. “We’re proud and excited to continue our relationship with the fantastic team at the British Sailing Team,” Peters said. “Over the past 25 years, Harken UK has been privileged to play a part in many successful Olympic campaigns and it’s an honour to work alongside the next generation of world-class sailors, from those just starting out in the sport, right through to the top elite level British sailors. We’re excited to see what we can deliver and achieve together in the lead-up to the Olympic Games and throughout the event itself in 2028.”
Mark Robinson, Performance Director for the British Sailing Team, echoed that sentiment. “Harken UK has been an important supporter of the British Sailing Team for many years, and their technical expertise, reliability and commitment to performance sailing are hugely valued,” Robinson noted. “This renewed partnership ensures our athletes continue to have access to world-class equipment and support as we build towards LA 28. We’re delighted to be continuing this relationship and look forward to working closely together over the coming years.”
With a quarter-century of collaboration already behind them, the renewed agreement positions both Harken UK and the British Sailing Team to push the boundaries of performance sailing as the countdown to Los Angeles 2028 intensifies.
