Erin McIlwaine and Ellen Barbour Launch Mile by Mile Campaign for LA 2028 Olympics

Erin McIlwaine and Ellen Barbour have launched a 49erFX Olympic campaign aimed at securing their place at the LA 2028 Games, and they need your support to make it happen. The pair are racing in the high-performance 49erFX class with one clear goal in mind: representing their country on the biggest stage in sailing.

The road to the Olympics is anything but simple. Training camps, international regattas, professional coaching, and top-level equipment all come with significant costs, and every stage of the journey requires backing to keep the momentum going.

To help fund their campaign, Erin and Ellen have launched “Our Journey to LA – Mile by Mile,” a GoFundMe initiative designed to rally the sailing community and beyond behind their Olympic dream.

Watch the video above to hear directly from Erin and Ellen about what this campaign means to them and how your contribution could help turn their ambitions into reality.

Every donation, whether big or small, brings them one step closer to the start line in Los Angeles. If you’re in a position to help, please consider donating and sharing their campaign with your networks. Supporting grassroots Olympic athletes is one of the most meaningful ways to invest in the future of the sport.
