Hosted by the Corpus Christi Yacht Club in Texas from November 3–7, the 2025 edition of the 2025 U.S. Multihull Championship (sailing for the Hobie Alter Trophy) was contested in the Formula Wave class with a fleet of 86 registered boats, divided into qualifying fleets before splitting into Gold and Silver divisions for the final series.
In the Gold Fleet of 43 boats, the 2025 U.S. Multihull Championship podium was dominated by seasoned multihull racers: Jim Sajdak took the title, Mike Montague placed second and Wally Myers rounded out the top three.
Sajdak’s campaign was built on two bullets and a strong overall performance. His race series: 1-2-12-[14]-1-1 with the discard of the 14th place gave him a net total of 17 points, enough to top Montague’s 19 and Myers’ 23.
Montague’s consistent finishes of 6-4-3-[11]-4-2 totalled 19 points for second place. Myers’ series of 5-9-1-[27]-3-5 netted 23.

According to the 2025 U.S. Multihull Championship event report, the fleet sailed under a variety of conditions and the format included a geographic team-program to encourage regional pairing and strengthen local fleets.
The Silver Fleet was won outright by Joshua Lockton with just 13 points, followed by Julio Caceres (30 pts) and John Williams (36 pts).
This year’s championship serves as a reminder of how multihull sailing at the national level remains vibrant: high participation, tight racing up front and a venue capable of delivering memorable conditions for one-design Formula Wave cats.
In the end, Sajdak’s sharp execution in the final two races (two 1sts) proved decisive. For the broader fleet, the event delivered both sporting excellence and community momentum.
